Meet our 2022 Honoree - Tracy Tonaki
Tracy Tonaki has worked for Texas-based D.R. Horton Inc.’s (NYSE:DHI) since 2003. Over the last 18 years, she has led the company’s statewide community planning, architectural and civil engineering design, permitting, procurement, construction contract management and government relations.On October 1, 2021 she assumed leadership of the company’s Hawaii Division. Born and raised in the islands, Tracy has a strong passion for providing much needed homes for Hawaii’s families and is driven by the dynamic collaboration with others to do so. She is only the fourth to head the local company during its 49-year history, most recently leading the overall development of Hoopili, the largest active master planned community in the State.

Tracy is a licensed architect in the State of Hawaii and a graduate of University of Hawaii at Manoa’s School of Architecture. She is also a long-time board member of Hawaii FIRST Robotics and board president of The Institute of Human Services. Tracy enjoys marathon training with friends (walking of course) and relishes her empty nest with husband, Toby and yellow lab, Harley. She is very proud of her son and daughter, Cole and Marisa, who are both settled in and thriving at college.
