Meet our 2022 Honoree - Corianne Lau

Corianne Lau is a partner in the Honolulu office of Dentons US LLP, formerly known as Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of employment law and litigation, government contracts, commercial disputes and administrative law. Cori has advised many nonprofit organizations on business, organizational and employment matters. Over the years she has provided hundreds of hours of pro bono legal services to nonprofit organizations, particularly those serving women, children and indigent individuals. As a former director of the YWCA of O`ahu, she is happy to continue serving the organization as pro bono counsel.

Cori’s employment practice includes advising and defending employers on EEO matters such as discrimination and retaliation, counseling on human resources, business issues, wage and hour investigations and disputes, and litigating diverse employment claims. During the pandemic, she has been providing training and counseling on topics related to COVID including workplace safety, mandatory vaccination policies, and weighing vaccine exemption accommodation requests on the bases of disability and religious grounds. Cori has represented government contractors in procurement matters, including protests, claims and disputes, administrative hearings and appeals. She has written about and presented seminars on Hawai`i employment law and legislation and government contracts (procurement) topics.

Cori serves as the Diversity and Inclusion Partner in Dentons’ Employment and Labor Practice Group, and co-chairs the firm’s local WomenLead group. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Employment Law Committee of DRI. She is a former director of the Hawai'i State Bar Association and a past President of Hawai'i Women Lawyers and the Hawai'i Women’s Legal Foundation. Cori serves on the Board of Directors of the East‐West Center Foundation and is a former member of the Board of Governors of the East-West Center.

Cori has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for Labor & Employment Litigation (2012-2022; 2017 "Lawyer of the Year"), Employment Law-Management (2013-2022), Arbitration (2012-2022) and Government Contracts (2018-2022; 2022 "Lawyer of the Year”).
